This necklace is a memento of new beginnings.
Inspired by the god of transitions in Roman mythology, Janus presided over passages, doors, gates and endings, as well as transitional periods such as from war to peace.
As a god of beginnings and transitions both in literal and abstract ways, Janus was responsible for motion, changes, and time. Traditionally, this god is depicted as having two faces looking at opposite ways, one towards the past and the other towards the future.
A delicate, light weight, hand carved charm hangs from a 14k gold filled cable chain. The pendant is made of sterling silver, then coated in a thick layer of high grade 14k gold vermeil.
It's a brilliant, everyday reminder that anything is possible.
